Taku Sakaushi is increasingly becoming a reference point when talking seriously about new interests in Japanese architecture, be it social consciousness, reuse of buildings, or ecology. One of the qualities of his architecture derives from this interest in the public aspect of architecture. His buildings always recognize an outside to relate to, consciously, and some of his projects are based precisely in this sort of connection. This is not quite as common in the Japanese context as it may sound. Two other qualities are a basso continuo running throughout his works. This monograph collects 20 years in the career of this Japanese architect. 264 pages of works and reflections, photographs, plans and details, and with texts by Enric Massip, David Stewart, Shunsuke Kuwahara, Diego Grass, Manabu Chiba and Shinichi Takiguchi.
