The American publisher and DIY architect Lloyd Kahn made a name for himself in the 1970s with publications on the do-it-yourself movement. As an eclectic meta-manual, Shelter Cookbook deals with the contents of these now iconic publications and relates their ways of thinking and working to the contemporary practices of the Swiss architect Leopold Banchini and the curator Lukas Feireiss. Shelter Cookbook sees itself as a document of a personal search for unexpected relationships and networks with regard to historical documents and contemporary architectural projects. The volume contains interviews, photo series and follows mycological explorations.
