Sessions Press' Red Flower, The women of Okinawa is the first US monograph by Okinawan photogrpaher Mao Ishikawa, a highly revered figure in Japan. The revised editon features several unpublished photographs from the artist first book Hot Days ii the Camp published in 1982. Red flower exhibits Ishikawa's celebration of the courageous and honest lives of the women she met and befriended while working in bars that werre local hang ous for the black soilders during from the local US military bases.
