Portuguese architecture goes beyond the uniform image that is sometimes attributed to it and presents a variety of material, constructive and conceptual approaches that make it immensely rich. The architecture of the Aires Mateus brothers contributes greatly to this richness and this monograph collects their most relevant works from 2003 to the present day. In its almost 300 pages, 18 projects are compiled, ranging from housing to public and corporate buildings, new construction and rehabilitation. A photogenic and internationally acclaimed work that tends to be more attractive for its image and representation than for the understanding of the clear and rigorous project research behind it. This publication aims to show that relationship.
